New alpha is here! It took a while, because after developing the first version I decided to switch to PlayMaker for global gameplay events, to get better control and overview of what's going on: Each segment of the level in SightLine is unique behaviorally, which requires certain amount of custom scripting and interfacing - a challenging task.

To ensure rapid development and better control I've reworked the whole system under PlayMaker and rebuilt the whole level from the first alpha under this new system. Now I can continue adding new stuff with greater efficiency than before!

I've also thrown in some new stuff and improvements based on your feedback. There's a menu with level select (double press Esc to get back to menu) a death scene (with hopefully cool effect, check it out - select third battle to die quickly Smile ), improvements in layouts and behavior and better controls!

Also here's a little sneak peak behind the scenes how SightLine is made, now with PlayMaker! Smile

- Added menu with Level Select (you can quickly jump to various parts)
- Completely stabilized head - it's now positioned by manually written offsets,
instead of smoothing out the head movement of the character animation
- Improvements in controls
  - Smoothed out velocity a bit (will do more later)
  - Decreased sensitivity
  - Fixed random direction change when jumping
- Improved falling speed - it's a slow acceleration now, instead of instant fall
- Improved first battle scene
- Improved interaction with colored shapes - they now never change during fight
when holding them
- Adjusted enemy difficulty and health
- Changed behavior of "color locks" - they don't deactivate the instant they
leave your sight now, but gradually power off. You're no longer forced to
have them constantly in your field of vision, but instead just glance at them
every few seconds
- Added third battle with volatile floor
- Changed effect when falling off platform - now behaves more like a "Loop back"
- Changed level layout in the second part of third color lock puzzle
- Added semaphore to the "Door and Key" scene to make it easier and more clear
how to switch between the two paths
- Fixed issue when jumping of the platform and shooting out the key could lead
to dead end - the key now teleports back to its original location of this
- Fixed piece of player geometry sometimes showing up
- Fixed a single-frame delay between repositioning player when switching levels
- Reverted back to Oculus SDK 0.2.5c
- Other smaller fixes and improvements here and there    

- Difficult/impossible to control with gamepad (please use keyboard+mouse now)
- Black screen on Linux (Oculus SDK 0.2.5c refuses to load)
- Fog uses z-buffer and changes when you rotate your head

Both the Windows and Mac OSX download locations do not work. Hostgator dot com responds with 404 Not Found.

Is there another place you can host the files so we can download them?
